Research Inventory

Introduction

Initially, when doing a surface search to learn about Kukuipahu Heiau, little information was found. Therefore, I began to create a research inventory which documents the key terms and search hits within these databases to begin to consider the information about this heiau. Papakilo and Ulukau were heavily used search engines for this inventory along with a few other databases. To organize this information, various tables were created and the resources from these databases collected.

Given the time frame of this internship program, I was unable to view all relevant documents and databases. However, this inventory serves as a foundation that can allow for expansion of future research. Additionally, the collected documents included on this website will require further analyzation. There are some resources listed that I wasnʻt able to access because it is not available to view online, such resources should be sought at their physical repository.

Kukuipahu Search Hit Data

Below is a table of my search hit data. Search hit data means the amount of times a key term is listed within these specific databases. Key terms mean the word used in the search box within these databases. This table includes five key terms and eight online repositories used to complete this research inventory for Kukuipahu Heiau. Boxes with ʻ---' indicate that there were no results available for that key term in that online repository. In the case of State Historic Preservation, boxes with ʻX' indicate that there were results, but no exact number available.

Links to Online Repositories

Below are the eight online repositories I utilized for this research inventory. Each repository has its own page with a list of connected resources and links. A button at the top of each repository page directs you to the appropriate website where you can view more resources that Iʻve looked at and conduct your own research.
